Chart terms, in plain language

- True Day Open
- The trading day's opening price at midnight New York time, used as the reference point for the day's direction.
- CRH / CRL
- Shorthand for yesterday's daily candle's high and low (Candle Range High/Low) — the boundaries today's price is measured against.
- SMT divergence
- When two correlated markets (e.g. the euro and the dollar index) fail to make the same extreme in the same session, hinting one side is weakening.
- DXY
- The dollar index — a summary measure of the US dollar's strength against a basket of other currencies, used as directional confirmation.
- Killzone
- A time window of elevated liquidity and volatility (typically the London or New York open) where sweeps and entries most often happen.
- Sweep
- A short price spike past a visible level (a high/low) that takes resting orders, followed by a quick reversal back.
